What does ‘Safety’ mean?

Safety is a very important aspect in any organisation which means a state of being protected against any kind of damage. It can further be categorised as:

  • General Safety is a multi-disciplinary approach to developing and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, safe working practices, and maintaining the health and well-being of those employed in a particular occupation or workplace.
  • Specific Safety is an approach towards ensuring compliance towards specific equipment.

At any workplace, safety is the responsibility of both employer and its employee.

  • The employer is responsible for ensuring that employees are properly trained and equipped and that they follow the standard safety practices established by the business.
  • The employee is responsible for following safety practices that protect themselves and fellow workers.
